Eastlake High Senior to Receive SDABJ Scholarship

Caitlyn Keeve is a Senior at Eastlake High School. She believes that the best decision she made in high school was joining the newspaper as a staff writer, later working her way up to Student Life Editor and Senior Managing Editor. She used her position to write articles concerning the changing beauty standards for women, and informed her school of the injustices against African American communities at universities across the country. She plans to attend Mount Saint Mary’s University in Los Angeles,California and major in Journalism and New Media to continue her career as an informative writer. Caitlyn thanks the San Diego Association of Black Journalists for awarding her this scholarship.
