By SDABJ Team
Dear SDABJ,
I am truly honored to serve as the president of the San Diego Association of Black Journalists. This organization on the local and national level has played a pivotal role in my career, providing invaluable workshops, mentorship, and connections that have shaped my journey in journalism. Now, I have the privilege of giving back and helping to elevate our community here in San Diego.
SDABJ has long been a pillar of support, advocacy, and opportunity for Black journalists and communication professionals. As we move forward, I am committed to building upon the strong foundation set before me by fostering meaningful mentorship and creating more opportunities for growth and success in our industry. Examples of that include the annual “Pro For A Day” event and the Scholarship Award Ceremony.
In these ever-changing times, our voices are more important than ever. Through collaboration, innovation, and a shared commitment to excellence, I believe we can continue to uplift and empower one another. I look forward to working alongside each of you to ensure that SDABJ remains a force for change and progress.
Sincerely,
Omari Fleming
